I love automation and I am not against it all. In fact, at Optimum Solutions we have automated some of our processes and are constantly looking for areas we can further automate.
For obvious reasons and the fact that we are in 2025, it would be unwise to publicly say “automation is not needed”! With that being said, I can now tell you a little story. Sometime last year, I had an exchange with a friend who is in the field of payment automation and invoice processing. After explaining to him what we do at Optimum Solutions – data entry, validation, annotation services, my friend told me that they do not need manual data entry, let alone manual data validations as their entire data workflow is fully automated!
Insights from Industry Experts
I was immediately curious about how his company managed to fully automate its entire data workflow, especially considering his field! I was curious, not in disbelief! So, from that time, I started talking to more and more people who are in this field to understand how they are managing their data workflows.
What I found out was, that it’s possible to automate many aspects of payment automation and invoice processing, but completely eliminating human data validation is generally not advisable. Data validation is crucial for ensuring accuracy, preventing errors, and maintaining data integrity. However, advanced automation technologies can significantly reduce the need for manual data validation by using sophisticated algorithms and machine learning to handle most of the validation tasks.
The Role of Human Data Validation
After my small research, I had to make a conclusion. As one of the key players in the field of data entry, annotation, and validation; incorporate manual data validation steps to ensure accuracy and compliance. Human data validations create a robust system that leverages the efficiency of automation while maintaining the accuracy and reliability provided by human oversight.
Balancing Automation and Human Oversight
The choice is entirely up to you and your business. Whether to “fully automate” by investing in advanced automation technologies that are powered by sophisticated algorithms and machine learning or to have human data validators within the whole data workflow.
In your opinion, would you fully automate or have human data validators throughout your processes? There is no wrong answer. 😉
